From Yearbook Puzzles to Enterprise Pipelines

My path into the creative world started in high school when I joined the year bookstaff. Piecing together layouts felt like solving a giant, beautiful puzzle, and it was the exact moment I realized I had a natural knack for combining images, text, and color to make something meaningful. That obsession with visual problem-solving led me to the fine arts program at BYU-Idaho, where I emphasized motion and graphic design.

While studying, I spent my extra hours working as a teaching aid and tutor—helping peers demystify the Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office ecosystems. Looking back, that was my first real taste of creative leadership and my first time discovering how rewarding it is to help a team break down complex technical tools.

After graduating, I threw myself head first into the fast-paced world of creative agencies, starting with an internship at VOX Global where I built websites, cut social media videos, and designed motion graphics for clients like Bank of America and AT&T. I quickly learned how to thrive in high-volume environments, a skill I sharpened further at NOAH’s Event Venue by directing their social content, brand visibility, and marketing collateral.

By the time I stepped into my role as an Art Director and Motion Designer at FleishmanHillard, my focus shifted from pure execution to high-level strategy and production management. There, I became the go-to creative resource for the Dallas office—navigating complex client relationships, leading creative direction, supporting high-stakes RFP bids, and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver massive omni-channel campaigns for powerhouse names like Salesforce, the Janssen, PepsiCo, and the Texas DHHS. Today, I look atevery project through that dual lens of artistic integrity and logistical precision, ensuring that the creative process is just as highly engineered as the final product.

Always Learning, Always Adapting

The design landscape moves incredibly fast, but to me, that’s the most exciting part of the job. I’ve always had a running obsession with learning, whether I'm diving into advanced Cinema 4D techniques, earning career certificates in UI/UX, or tracking the latest industry shifts. I don’t believe in getting comfortable with a single workflow just because "it's how it's always been done." Instead, I actively seek out new methodologies that can make a creative pipeline smarter, faster, and more efficient for the entire team.

Lately, that means diving head first into the intersection of motion design and emerging AI. I love experimenting with platforms like Midjourney, RunwayML, and Google AI Studio—or setting up workflow automation through n8n—to see how we can supercharge production timelines and take the friction out of rapid prototyping. But I keep a strict rule at the center of my philosophy: technology should always serve the story, never replace it. For me, integrating AI into a production ecosystem isn't about cutting corners; it's about freeing up our hands so we can spend more time focusing on high-level art direction, deep strategy, and preserving the true artistic soul of the final piece.
